You generally cannot record a hearing or conference. If you want to record, you must ask a Commission Member first. It is rare for a Commission Member to allow you to record.
It is at the Commission Member's discretion as to whether they will approve your request to record.
This applies to all recording equipment including:
- video cameras
- still cameras
- audio recording devices
- mobile phones.
You can request access to our recordings if you are a party involved in the case. See Transcripts and recordings for more information.
Approval to record
To seek approval you must ask the Member hearing the case. If you do not know who is hearing a case, check the hearings schedule. The relevant Member is listed next to each case.
You will need to email the Member's room (chambers) for approval. See Contact a Commission Member for a list of email addresses. It is important you provide a valid reason. The Member will assess your request and their associate will respond to you.
