President’s statement about Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024

Justice Hatcher, President, has issued a Statement about the impact of the Net Zero Economy Authority Act 2024 on our functions.

The statement provides an overview of our functions when an owner or operator of a coal-fired or gas-fired power station announces their intention to close the whole or part of the power station and the CEO of the Net Zero Economy Authority applies to us for a ‘community of interest determination’.

The statement outlines our approach to implementation of these functional changes, noting the significance these applications may have for particular communities.
